Save the Blacksmith Shop

Blacksmith ShopIn 1870, Oliver Ellsworth and Adeline Wise embarked on a journey to Erie, Colorado, where they built a home that now stands as the Wise Homestead Museum, a cherished piece of our community’s history. On this same property, O.E. Wise constructed a blacksmith’s shop—a structure that has withstood the test of time but now urgently requires restoration. This historic blacksmith shop is a vital reminder of Erie’s early days, representing the hard work and craftsmanship that helped build our town. With your support, we can preserve this unique piece of heritage for future generations to experience and learn from. As part of the Erie Historical Society, a 501c3 nonprofit, your donations will directly fund the restoration efforts to save this invaluable landmark. Together, we can bring history to life once more—please consider donating today to help us preserve this irreplaceable piece of Erie’s past.
